Gullibility
Oil on linen 36″ x 30″
This hale and hearty woman is supremely happy to have enjoyed a successful oyster gathering morning. As she paddles toward shore she’s oblivious of the gulls who are happy as well because they’ve spotted an easy meal. She is the great aunt of a friend of mine, and as you can plainly see, an accomplished and relaxed canoeist, blissfully unaware that seagulls are the pigeons of the sea.
